Permit system for Manaslu and Tsum is bit complicated and perhaps out of date. You can’t issue necessary permits on your own. Government authorized agency, guide and minimum two trekkers are needed while applying for the permits. Also cost varies depending on the months. Make sure your passport expiry date is more than six months to obtain permit for Tsum & Manaslu!

Also solo trekkers can’t trek Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley on their own. There are two options for solo trekkers. Are you solo traveler? Either join our trek partner or issue ghost permit.

Watch out for your person hygiene. Always use hand sanitizer when possible. Stay healthy and don’t fall sick. In most of the places squat toilets are still in use. Chances of contamination is very high is squat toilet, learn how to use asian squat toilets. Make sure you had choose correct type of hand sanitizer.

Manaslu is a perfect blend of nature and culture. Depending on several factors entire trail could be divided into six broad sections. With development of motor road up to Soti Khola and to Dharapani, Manaslu circuit trek could be as short as fourteen days for Manaslu circuit and twenty two days for Manaslu circuit and Tsum valley.

Manaslu circuit and Tsum valley is a strenuous grade trek. Make sure you are fit and in good shape for the trek. Previous mountain experience is not important. More about the grading system.

Dharmsala should be open for the teahouse trek. Make sure it is open. During winter and monsoon it might be closed. September to November and March to May are two best time frame for Manaslu. With elevation starting from 600 m in Arughat and 5169 m in Larke Pass, weather is key! Some go for winter adventure as well and some to witness lush green field during monsoon.
