Manaslu base camp trek or Manaslu circuit trek?

Manaslu mountain is entirely located in Nepal and circuit trek is possible. If you look at Everest, circuit trek is not possible. Trek to base camp of Manaslu is just a part of circuit trek. Sama Gaon, a medieval village is a gateway for base camp. Every year for the expeditions many people set the camp in Sama Gaon.

On a regular Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary, from Sama Gaon during acclimatization day, trekkers made a day trip to Manaslu Base Camp. Elevation measured is 4450 from the sea level. From Sama it take around four hours to reach the campsite, which is busy during April and May as a preparation of climb. On the northern slope of Manaslu, there is a small glacial lake named Birendra Tal. Wide valley of Sama spread beneath it. There is a monastery as well near the village. Lake remains frozen until end of February and starts to melt.

More you gain altitude the scenery becomes more and more spectacular” – said Emily Martin from Czech Republic who had recently went to Manaslu Base Camp Trek with us.

During worse weather and snowy conditions it is not recommend to hike to base camp. Trail is steep, narrow and exposed. Instead you can hike to Pungyen Gompa in bad weather. Pack lunch is recommended and also early start. Hike as early as you can for the best view of Manaslu. After earthquake, Polish Expedition Team 2015 had successfully summit this mountain. Prakash had met them on their way down to Arughat. We are constantly keeping updates from the trail. For more information please browse our homepage.
